Cross Country Preps for Big South Championships

BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Campbell's men's and women's cross country teams will head to the Big South Conference Championships in Conway, S.C. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The 8K men's and 5K women's races will kick off at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., respectively, at Quail Creek Golf Club.

Campbell already has experience this season on the Quail Creek course, having been one of the six men's and women's programs to compete in the Coastal Carolina Invitational / Big South Preview on Sep. 17. Both Campbell units placed third in their respective events.

Liberty took the team title on the men's side with High Point finishing as the runner-up. HPU was also the runner-up in the women's race as the top Big South finisher, with Duke taking the team crown. Coastal Carolina also tied the Camels for third.

Leading the Campbell men was junior DeLohnni Nicol-Samuel with an eighth place finish and a time of 25:35. Sophomore Morgan Timiney also placed 13th, clocking in with a time of 25:58.

Senior Rachel Deline topped the CU women's efforts with a time of 18:40, good for 13th, while junior Cynthia Navarro placed 14th with a time of 18:46.

Three Campbell men's and 10 women's harriers have upped their personal bests since the Big South Preview.
