BOONE, N.C.-Campbell's women placed fifth while the men's squad finished eighth overall in the Blue Ridge Open cross country meet Friday afternoon at the ASU State Farm Fields.
Furman claimed the women's 5K team title, while George Mason took the men's 8K team race. Wake Forest sophomore Nicole Irving was the women's individual winner with a time of 17:43.40. Patrick Crawford of High Point was the top men's collegiate participant with a 24:38.20 finish.
Senior Rachel Deline paced the CU women with a time of 18:52.40, finishing 17th, while sophomore Ashley Matthews took 27th with a 19:09.60 mark. Freshman Samantha Robbins placed 39th with a 19:21.40, while sophomore Claudia Mundy posted a time of 19:23.90 for 43rd. Junior Cynthia Navarro also finished 51st with a time of 19:31.20.
On the men's side, sophomore Morgan Timiney posted a time of 25:44.20 for 17th. Junior DeLohnni Nicol-Samuel placed 28th with a 25:55.50 clip, while sophomore Chris Schulist registered a 50th place finish with a time of 26:27.20. Evan Darm and Clayton Woll rounded out the squad with times of 26:38.50 and 27:02.90, respectively, finishing 56th and 73rd.
Next up for the Camels is the Big South Championship in Conway, S.C. on Oct. 29.
