    Men's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at A-Sun Championships ATLANTA, GA. ? Freshman Michael Earle (Scarborough, Ontario/Birchmont Park) led the Campbell University men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the Atlantic Sun Men's Cross Country Championships, with his 23rd-place finish, Saturday. Earle covered the 8K course in 26:33.83, finishing one spot ahead of senior Ryan Richmond (Morrisville, NY/Hamilton Central), who crossed the line in 26:35.09.Fellow freshman Kyle Ridington (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) was 32nd in 27:15.27, freshman Clarence Williams (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) was 35th in 27:30.60, while sophomore Eddie Hood (Snellville, Ga./South Gwinnett) rounded out the Camel scoring with a 45th place finish in 28:41.37.

The Campbell women are paced by junior Heather Lee of Calgary, Alberta. Lee has finished no lower than fourth in any of Campbell's five previous meets this year. She is coming off an exceptional fourth-place showing on Oct. 13 at the Furman Invitational, which was run on the same course where the NCAA Regional and National Championships will be held.

Heather Lee of Campbell University has been named Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season. Lee, a junior from Calgary, Alberta, placed fourth in a field of 263 runners last Saturday at the Furman Invitational, a preview to the NCAA Championships meet, with a 22:02 clocking on the 6,000 meter course. Lee's time was only 20 seconds behind winner Nan Evans from Brigham Young. She has placed among the top four individuals in each of her five races this year. An all-conference performer last year, Lee and the Campbell cross country teams return to action on Sat., Oct. 27 in the Atlantic Sun Championships at Atlanta, Ga.

The Camels top relay team of Ryan Richmond and Michael Earl finished in seventh place completing the 10-mile course in 52:48.05. On the women's side, the Camels defeated Wofford 6-15, but lost to North Carolina 6-15 and Charlotte 8-15. Campbell's pair of Heather Lee and Natalie Lewis finished in eighth place completing the 6-mile course in 35:14.60. Both cross country teams will be in action Saturday at the University of South Carolina.
