Furman Defeats Volleyball, 3-0

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Furman limited Campbell to just 15 kills while the Paladins registered 45 scores to down the Camels 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-19) Saturday at the Hilton University 49er Invitational inside Halton Arena.

The Paladins improved to 6-3 on the season, while Campbell falls to 3-7 overall.

Natalie Braun paced Furman with 17 assists, 10 kills and six digs, while Chandler Ambrester and Kelly Kirby posted nine kills apiece. Ambrester and Kirby added 11 and 14 digs, respectively, with Carolyn Nicoletti added a match-high 16 digs. Kirby also tacked on 13 assists for the Paladins.

Junior outside hitter Jordan Reaves led Campbell with seven kills, seven digs and four blocks. Annie Kobeski, Kelsey Marek and Ally Russo each tallied two kills. Kobeski and Marek, meanwhile, combined for 11 blocks. Sophomore setter Heather Wilson posted 12 assists and seven digs, with Kelsey Campbell gathering nine digs.

The Camels are slated to meet Morgan State at 4:30 p.m. for their final match in the tournament.
