Nathan Leggett begins his fourth season as assistant volleyball coach at Campbell University. At CU, Leggett assists in all facets of the Fighting Camel volleyball program and serves as its recruiting coordinator.

Over the last two seasons at CU, Leggett has been largely responsible for the top-notch incoming classes, also cultivating multiple all-conference players.

Last season, Leggett’s aid paced the Camels through arguably the most difficult schedule in program history. Campbell posted a tournament win in the UNC Wilmington Beach Bash as Allyson Goldbach earned tournament MVP accolades. Kelsey Campbell and Heather Wilson also earned all-tournament recognition at UNCW.

Jordan Reaves, Annie Kobeski also garnered all-tournament recognition throughout the season.

In 2009, assisted by Leggett, the Camels enjoyed one of their best seasons in a decade, winning 17 matches for their first winning season since 2001. The win total was also the matched 2000 and 2001 for the third most wins for the CU program ever.

With Leggett’s aid, Ashley Weers was named First Team All Atlantic Sun, while Jordan Reaves garnered league All-Freshman Team honors. Emily Werner, meanwhile, earned North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State accolades.

In his first season with the Camels, his first coaching at the collegiate level, Leggett helped the Camels to their first Atlantic Sun Tournament appearance in seven years, while rookie setter Hope Leatigaga earned Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team honors.

Prior to joining the Fighting Camel program, Leggett enjoyed several successful stints at the club level. Last Spring, Leggett coached the Harnett Area Volleyball Club (HAVC) 17 Gold Division, ending the season second in the region with a 20-6 record and two tournament titles.

Before coming to Campbell, Leggett was at the helm of the Carolina Juniors, as well as Alexander Graham Middle School, both based out of Charlotte, N.C., where he was a coach and teacher for two years.

At Alexander Graham, Leggett’s efforts transformed a program that had won just five matches in three years, to an 11-3 record in 2007, finishing the season with a second place finish in the conference.

With the Carolina Juniors, the Columbus, Ohio native guided the squad to a 14-5 mark in 2007, including a win at the Elon Tournament Championship. The team also produced a pair of collegiate student-athletes, including Cori Holman, who earned an all-tournament selection at the Elon Tourney and now plays at Charleston Southern, and Alysse Hucko, now at Evangel University.

Leggett earned a degree in middle childhood education in math and science from Ohio University in 2005, where he coached another club team, the Aleta Aces. The team won its respective division under Leggett’s guidance. The Columbus, Ohio native completed his master’s of athletic administration from Ohio in June 2011.

In all, Leggett has guided his teams to a 75-29 record, including his time spent in Ohio and North Carolina.

At Ohio, Leggett also played on the school’s men’s club volleyball team, where he served as captain and president for his final two years, aiding a seventh place national finish in 2003. As a libero and outside hitter, Leggett helped the club amass a 64-54 record over the four year span.

Leggett resides in Fuquay-Varina.
