After completing a superb four-year playing career at Campbell, Caroline Hammersley joins the Camel staff as a student assistant coach.

A Raleigh, N.C. native, Hammersley was a fixture in the starting lineup at various positions on the court, and was honored with the team’s coaches award as a senior.

Hammersley converted to setter as a freshman, leading the team in assists that season. During her sophomore and junior campaigns, Hammersley split time as a right side and outside hitter, collecting 36 starts and playing in 60 matches over the two seasons. As a senior Hammersley was slowed by a shoulder injury and played in 10 matches.

Over the last five years, Hammersley has gained experience on the sideline, coaching various club and prep teams and camps.

From 2006 to 2009, she served as a coach for Triangle Volleyball Club’s Setter’s Academy, Youth Volleyball Program and Advanced Camp, coaching setters, as well as outside and right side hitters in the latter.

She has also served as an instructor at Cardinal Gibbons High School’s Volleyball Camp from 2004 to 2008, and Campbell’s summer camp.

Hammersley, who was honored twice as an Atlantic Sun All-Academic team member, is working to complete Campbell’s Trust and Wealth Management 3/2 program. Hammersley will graduate in 2012 with a degree in trust and wealth management, a minor in financial planning and a master’s in business administration.
