Women’s Tennis Takes on N.C. Central, UNC Wilmington

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell women's tennis travels to Durham N.C. to take on N.C. Central Friday at 2:00p.m. The Camels continue a five match road-stretch Saturday at UNC Wilmington, starting at 1:00p.m.

With a 1-4 record, the Camels took their lone win against Temple, 3-2, at the VCU 4-1 Invitational on Jan. 18.

During their last match at UNC Greensboro, freshman Ana Maria Ortiz (Betera, Spain) grabbed her third singles win of the season, and the only point of the match by defeating Dilaria Yurtkuran 6-4, 6-2. The Camels ultimately fell to the Spartans 6-1.

The Lady Eagles (0-1) are looking for a win in the match with Campbell after dropping a 7-0 decision to Elon on Feb. 9.

UNC Wilmington is 1-1 on their season, topping James Madison, 4-3 but falling to No. 53 William and Mary, 4-3, on Feb. 2.

Following the weekend, the Camels will finish out a long road-stretch at East Carolina, Feb.22. First serve begins at 2:00 p.m. Campbell opens its home slate on Feb. 28 against Big South-foe Liberty at 2:00 p.m.
