Campbell Completes ITA Carolina Regional

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Campbell women's tennis team went up against the top teams in the area at the ITA Carolina Regional at the Wake Forest Tennis Center. Freshman Ana Marie Ortiz (Betera, Spain) and junior Karolina Chernaya (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) represented the Camels at the event.

In the first round, Chernaya fought hard against Caitlin Cridland of Winthrop before falling 6-4, 6-4, while Ortiz dropped her match to Christine Newman of College of Charleston, 6-0, 6-1.

The tandem of Chernaya/Ortiz teamed up in the doubles competition and were outlasted by Nour/Sidorenko of Charleston Southern, 8-6, in their lone match.

Campbell finishes up the fall slate at the James R. Nisbet Invitational in Buies Creek, N.C.
