Campbell University hopes to return to action on the tennis courts
on Saturday at Old Dominion, after a pair of matches were washed
out this week.
Friday's men's and women's doubleheader vs. Elon has been
postponed until Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Nisbet Tennis
Center.
On Saturday, Campbell's men and women travel to Old Dominion
for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader. The women's match features a pair of
nationally-ranked teams. Campbell (10-3) is rated number-63 in the
latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings, while Old Dominion
is number-74.
Two of Campbell's three losses this year have come against
nationally-ranked teams in Virginia Commonwealth and Winthrop.
CU's other setback was at regionally-ranked Hampton.
Campbell junior Carmen Linder has earned a national ranking
for the first time in her collegiate career. The Beinheim, France
native is rated number-99 in the latest Omni Hotels singles
listing. Linder owns an 8-4 record in dual match singles play this
spring and is 10-2 at number-one doubles with partner Kerstin
Stockinger.
Old Dominion's Nataly Cahana is ranked number-22 in the
singles ratings for Apr. 9.
After Saturday's and Monday's action, Campbell will play in
the Atlantic Sun Conference Tennis Championships next week (Apr.
16-19) at DeLand, Fla.
