Fighting Camel Women’s Soccer Player Competes for Finland Across Europe
Former Campbell University women’s soccer standout Pirjo Leppikangas has been named to the Finland squad that will compete in Cyprus next month. The Cyprus Cup is being used by most UEFA-based national teams as the final preparation for the European Championships held in Sweden this July.

Campbell's Clark Selected to Coach at ODP National Training Camp
Campbell University women’s soccer head coach Todd Clark returned this week from Arizona where he was involved as a coach at the Olympic Development Program’s national training camp in Phoenix. Coach Clark was invited as a member of the ODP Region III staff and was the only coach from North Carolina at the national event.

The Campbell women's soccer team will host a high school girls' soccer clinic on Mon., Jan. 21. The clinic is for players currently enrolled in grades 9-12.

Borda Tabbed Big South All-Tournament
Senior Jeannie Borda was named to the Big South All-Tournament team for 2012. She was the sole representative for the Camels after the team fell in the first round of the tournament 1-0 to Radford.

Five Camels Earn Big South Postseason Honors
The Big South Conference announced Thursday night that five Campbell players were selected to postseason all-conference teams. Senior Taylor Brown and sophomore Ashley Clark were tabbed first team all-conference and senior Kirsty Meyer was named second team all-conference. Goalkeeper Alexis Connors was named to the all-freshman team, and senior Cissy Nitz was honored to the all-academic team.

Camels Fall to Radford in Big South Tournament Quarterfinal
The second-seeded Highlanders scored in the 79th minute of play, defeating the #7 Fighting Camels 1-0 in the first round of Big South tournament action Saturday at Cupp Stadium. This marks the second-straight year Radford (12-2-4, 7-0-4 Big South) has beaten Campbell (10-8-1, 5-6-0) in the conference tournament.

With five wins in the Big South this year, the Fighting Camels head to Radford, Va. to take on the Highlanders in the tournament quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Campbell (10-6-1, 5-6-0 Big South) finished seventh in the Big South regular season, while Radford (11-2-4, 7-0-4) placed second behind High Point.

In the final game of Big South Conference regular season game of the season, Campbell fell to High Point 2-0 Tuesday at Eakes Athletic Complex. The Fighting Camels are tied with Charleston Southern at seventh place in Big South standings heading into tournament play this weekend.

Campbell Takes Third in UNCW Invitational
The Fighting Camels beat Elon 1-0 Sunday to move to 3-1-1 and take third in UNCW's Courtyard Mariott Wilmington Invitational. The Camels finished tied for second place, but Troy was named runner-up based on goal differential. Junior Caitlin Schneider and sophomore Melissa Messier were named to the all-tournament team.

Women's Soccer Ties Francis Marion in Double Overtime
For the second time in as many games, the Fighting Camels went into overtime after a tied regulation. After 90 minutes, the score was tied 1-1, and after two overtime periods with no goals, the game was called a tie.
