Laurie Franklin, a former All-American goalkeeper at Malone College, enters her fourth year as assistant coach for the Campbell women's soccer team.

In 2009, Campbell set marks for its lowest goals-against-average (1.36) and most shutouts (6) since 2005.  Campbell keepers also registered a save percentage of .736.

"Laurie is a winner," said head coach Todd Clark. "She played for me as an All-American for four years and was the most dependable goalkeeper I ever coached. Now that she's a coach, she has coached the same way she played, with class, composure and determination. She has always conducted herself as a professional and that has translated to her coaching."

Franklin played for Clark at Malone, who was the head coach of the Pioneers for seven seasonsk, winning a pair of conference titles and an NAIA region championship.  She earned her B.A. in sports management in 2005 from Malone and received her M.S. in sport administration from Louisville in 2007.

"Campbell is different from any other place I've ever been and it's great," Franklin said. "The last three seasons have been challenging but very rewarding.  I am looking forward to seeing the team's hard work pay off with this group of girls.  I'll be sad to see the senior class go, as I came in the same year they came in as freshmen, but I know they have worked hard to help rebuild the program, and I'm excited to see them go out with a bang."

Franklin serves as goalkeepers coach, but assists in all phases of the program, including recruiting efforts. Franklin holds the NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma as well as the NSCAA National Diploma.

Franklin served as assistant coach at her high school, South Oldham.  She also worked as an assistant coach for one year with the Oldham County Thoroughbreds (U-14) club team.  Franklin also worked with the Midwest Baseball Academy in Louisville serving as the Director of Customer Services.
