Wrestling falls to North Dakota State, continues competition at Virginia Duals on Saturday

Hampton, Va. – Campbell dropped its first match of the 2012 Virginia Duals to North Dakota State 30-9 on Friday morning. The Fighting Camels (8-10) were competing without six of their ten starters due to injury and sickness, but CU took three of the final five bouts against the Bison (2-2).

Ryan Krecker (Nazareth, Penn.) got the Camels on the scoreboard with his 11-5 decision victory over Tyler Johnson at 165 pounds. Krecker improved to 9-7 this season, having won four of his last five matches. John Weakley (Cleveland, Ohio) then won a 14-8 decision over John Gusewelle, moving the redshirt senior to 17-7 on the season. Joe Nolan (Jackson, N.J.) concluded the match on a good note for CU, taking a 5-0 win over Evan Knutson.

Campbell will return to action on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. The Camels will face the loser of the Old Dominion/Rutgers match to be contested on Friday afternoon.
