BUIES CREEK – Campbell will host the Fighting Camel Duals on Wednesday evening at the Pope Convocation Center, welcoming Drexel University and Northern Colorado University on campus for a tri-match. The Camels will be facing the NCU Bears for the first time in program history, while CU and Drexel were former Colonial Athletic Association rivals.
The action will get underway at 4:30 p.m. as Northern Colorado and Drexel square off. At approximately 6:15, Campbell will take the mat against Drexel. The nightcap will feature Campbell against Northern Colorado at approximately 8 p.m.
Drexel enters the match 1-1 overall in dual matches. The Dragons opened the dual match season with a 25-10 victory over Franklin & Marshall before falling to Pitt 25-13. The Fighting Camel Duals will be the first dual match action of the season for NCU, who spent the month of November competing in open individual tournaments.
Campbell enters Wednesday's matches coming off a 27-15 Southern Conference road victory over VMI. The Camels are 5-4 overall on the young season, having matched the program's most dual match victories since 2005-06. Following the Fighting Camel Duals, CU will break for the Christmas holiday, returning to the mat on January 1-2 at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn.
