UNC Greensboro defeats Wrestling 38-4 Tuesday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Greensboro won nine of ten matches and went on to earn a 38-4 win over the Campbell wrestling team Tuesday at Fleming Gymnasium.

Each team wrestled in its season finale Tuesday. UNC Greensboro concludes its regular season 8-11, while Campbell finishes with a 4-18 record in dual competition.

The Spartans used two pins, three major decisions and a technical fall to seize control of the dual on their Senior Night.

Jake Fose recorded Campbell's sole match win of the evening, winning a 13-5 major decision over the Spartans' Alejandro Soto-Perez at 157 pounds.

Campbell will spend the next two weeks preparing for the East Regional Championships on Sunday, March 6, which will be held on the campus of Liberty University.

"We'll pick up the intensity more in practice this week and work on finishing our attacks and our defense," said head coach Joe Boardwine. "We've been working all season towards the East Regionals, and we've wrestled a really tough schedule to prepare for that. We're excited and hopefully we'll come out and wrestle well."
