Wrestling Falls Short on Senior Night

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell was unable to summon Senior Night magic as they fell 38-6 to UNC Greensboro in their home finale Tuesday inside the John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center.

The Spartans jumped out to a quick 16-0 lead over the Camels, and Campbell was unable to even matters.

CJ Gittens got Campbell on the board with an 8-2 decision over Eric Chandler in the 125 pound weight class. Gittens closed the season winning his last four matches and five out of his last six.

Junior Jake Fose won an exciting 10-8 overtime decision over UNC Greensboro's Travis Sheehy in the 157 pound spot just nine seconds into the extra period.

With the win, the Spartans improve to 8-7 on the season. Campbell finishes the regular season 1-13.

With the conclusion of the regular season, the Camels will look forward to the East Region Championships in Millersville, Pa., which are slated to begin Saturday, March 6.
