The Campbell wrestling team (0-7) will travel to Boiling Springs to take on the Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb University (1-10-1) in a dual meet slated to begin Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena.
The Camels are seeking to rebound from Wednesday's 21-17 home loss to the Duke University Blue Devils.
Despite jumping out to a 14-4 lead through five bouts, the Camels were unable to sustain momentum and lost four of the last five contests to fall to 0-7. Richie Apolinar and Jake Fose's major decision victories highlighted the Camels' attack. Kelin Bidelspach, Chris Mazzatta, and Parker Burns also claimed hard-fought decisions over the Blue Devils.
The Bulldogs enter Tuesday's dual meet having dropped four straight contests, including two at home to Appalachian State University and North Carolina State University on Wednesday.
Gardner-Webb is coached by Richard Wince, in his 18th year at the helm of the program. They are led by 13th-ranked senior heavyweight Dustin Porter, who has compiled a 25-4 record this season and has won six straight matches.
After Tuesday's matchup, the Campbell grapplers travel to Lynchburg, Va., for a January 30 bout against Liberty University. Campbell returns to action in Buies Creek Saturday, Feb. 5, for the East Regional Duals. The event is slated for a 9 a.m. start inside the John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center.
