DURHAM, N.C. The Duke wrestling team notched its
twelfth victory of the season Wednesday night, defeating the
Campbell University Fighting Camels 23-12 at Cameron Indoor
Stadium. Duke's twelve dual match wins are the most season
victories in the program's history.
Sophomore Tommy Hoang started the night strong for the Blue Devils, notching a pin in 1:05 against Andy Bricker. Freshman Frank Cornely and junior Daegan Smith recorded major decisions, and junior Harry Clarke, freshman Josh Sheridan, and junior Tom Cass registered victories for Duke as well. Cass' 8-6 decision against Josh Christian improves his season record to 25-5.
The Camels picked up wins from Adam Dohery, Mike Wrinkle, Lantz Nixon, and John Black. CU returns to action on Saturday at The Citadel.
