Women's Golf finishes fourth at UNCG Starmount Fall Classic

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Four Camels placed among the top 21 individuals and Campbell finished fourth on the team leader board following Tuesday's final round of the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic.

Michelle Koh placed 13th in the 74-golfer field on the par-71, 6265-yard Starmount Forest Country Club layout.  The senior from Kuantan, Malaysia fired a two-over-par 73 on Tuesday to finish the event at 14-over 227 (80-74-73).  Her final round included three birdies.

Freshman Lisbeth Brooks of Waunakee, Wisc., was one-under-par over the final 11 holes Tuesday and finished 18th overall (77-80-73—230).  Junior Teresa Urquizu from San Sebastian, Spain produced her first top-20 individual finish of the year with a 19th-place tie (79-77-75—231).

Campbell freshman Brooke Bellomy from Ona, W.Va., tied for 21st place (77-74-81—232), while fellow frosh Johanne Svendsen finished 63rd (88-83-81—252).  Playing as an individual, sophomore Maria Jose Benavides tied for 29th (83-78-75—236).

Maryland (303-308-290—901) won the 14-school event by seven strokes over runner-up East Tennessee State (304-302-302—908).  Host UNC Greensboro was third (304-308-305—917), followed by Campbell (313-305-302—920), Furman (306-306-309—921) and Georgia State (307-306-308—921).

Charlotte Lorentzen of Georgia State won the individual title at plus-five 218 (75-69-74).  Juliet Vongphaumy of Maryland finished three strokes behind in second place (76-74-71—221). 

Campbell continues its fall schedule Friday-through-Sunday with the Xavier Invitational at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
