BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell plays the second of three games in a five-day period on Wednesday against UVA-Wise. The tip is set for 7 p.m. inside Gore Arena/John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center.

The Lady Camels (6-2) won their first road contest of the season on Dec. 16 at N.C. Central, 56-45, and finish up their toughest stretch of the season on Friday at Elon.

Fans can follow all the action from the Gore Arena with free video on the Big South Network with Bill Priestley on the call. Live stats can be found via the links at the top of the page, while @GoCamelsWBB on Twitter will post in-game updates.

Campbell won a defensive struggle with N.C. Central in its last game as senior forward Roslyn Presley (Petersburg, Va.) scored 15 points. Eight different scorers made jumpers in the game as the Lady Camels spread the ball around and racked up 15 assists on 20 made buckets.

"I love that we have spread our shooting around so much, because that means we are hard to guard," said Presley after the game, "For some teams when you scout them, you know their scoring is coming from specific players, but with us, anybody can be a top scorer."

The Lady Camels' defense forced a number of stops down the stretch to clinch the victory as the Eagles made just one field goal over the final seven minutes. A 39-32 advantage in rebounds helped Campbell improve to 5-0 when it won the battle of the boards.

"In late-game situations, we got ahead of ourselves a couple of times, but when we did, we got the defensive stops," said head coach Wanda Watkins. "I can count on both hands the defensive stops that we needed in the second half, which really made a big difference for our basketball team."

Overall, Campbell has made 49 three-point field goals, ranking 34th nationally and first in the Big South. The team is atop the league rankings in assists (16.75) and assist/turnover ration (0.93).

The meeting is the first between Campbell and UVA-Wise. The contest is a scheduled exhibition game for the Cavaliers.

UVA-Wise, a member of the Division II Mountain East Conference, is 6-2 on the campaign with victories over Ohio Valley (62-52), VU-Lynchburg (66-50), Pikeville (79-71, 71-66), Notre Dame (71-67) and West Virginia Wesleyan (53-43).

Four scorers have averaged double figures for UVA-Wise in Makenzie Cluesman (13.3), Taylor Sandidge (12.6), Reynesha Archer (11.6) and Katie Jo Lester (11.4).
