Megan Hall is entering her seventh season as an assistant coach for the Lady Camels. Hall is involved in all aspects of the Lady Camel program with special emphasis on post player development.
In addition, Hall is the video coordinator, responsible for handling all film exchange and scouting opponents, all aspects of on and off campus recruiting, including running the junior database, organizing phone calls, as well as mail outs for prospective student-athletes. Hall also assists in the running of the Campbell Girls Basketball School and Lady Camel Backer Tournament as well.
During the 2010-11 season, the Lady Camels posted the program’s most Atlantic Sun conference wins in a decade with 12, behind an 8-2 performance in the month of January, including a seven-game win streak. The Lady Camels also set the Gore Arena record for points scored in a single game with 98 in a 28-point win over league foe USC Upstate. For the second straight year, the Lady Camels were seeded third in the A-Sun Conference Tournament, the team’s best positioning since the 2000-01 season.
While overseeing the academic progress of Lady Camel basketball players her first four years at Campbell, 37 times athletes were named to the A-Sun All-Academic Team. Lady Camel players have been named A-Sun All-Conference performers four times. In the 2011, sophomore Tonisha Baker was named to First Team All-Atlantic Sun after earning all-freshman recognition in 2010.
Former CU center Marlena Murphy earned second team honors as a senior in 2008, while posting a first team nod as a junior. In 2006, Adrienne Rieley was also named second team all-conference.
While involved in the program, Hall has assisted in all aspects of recruiting. She was a huge part in the recruitment of the 2009 North Carolina class of Tonisha Baker, Jazmine Cooper, and Monique Spry, which were ranked in the top-150 recruiting classes in the country according to All-Star Girls Report. Hall has also been involved in coordinating all unofficial and official visits since being part of the program in 2005.
"Megan is a people-oriented person who has a way of relating well to others," said head coach Wanda Watkins. "Young people and prospects are attracted quickly to her as she makes them at ease in conversation. She is a natural teacher of the game and gives 100 percent at all times."
Before coming to Campbell, Hall was at Martin Methodist College (2004-05) and was involved with all facets of the Lady RedHawks' program. In addition to working with the Martin Methodist post players, Hall coordinated scouting and game preparation for all opponents, served as the program's recruiting coordinator, handled all film exchange, camp coordinating, academic progress and served as the intramural director.
Prior to her stint at Martin Methodist, the Morristown, Tenn. native served one season (2002-03) as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn. Her primary duties with the Eagles included scouting all opponents, film exchange and player development.
In 2002, Hall was the head coach of the Lakeway Starz, an AAU girl's basketball team consisting of All-Star players from the East Tennessee area under the age of 14.
Along with her assistant coaching duties, Hall has also served as a coach and camp counselor at numerous camps, including Pat Summit's University of Tennessee Girl's Basketball Camp.
A graduate of Carson-Newman College in 2003, Hall began her collegiate career at Walter State Community College in Morristown, Tenn., where she led the squad to a Tennessee State Title and appearance in the 1999 NJCAA National Tournament. She served as a team captain at WSCC from 1999-2000, and played in the Tennessee Junior College All-Star Game.
She holds an A.S. from Walters State (2000), a B.A. in Psychology from Carson-Newman and a Master's of Education from Campbell (2007). Since earning her Master’s Degree at Campbell, Hall has been a professor for the Exercise Science department for three years.
Hall was a member of the 2005 NAIA National Tournament Committee, and also coached a 14 and under team in the Friendship Games in Sydney, Australia in 2005.
Following her two seasons at the community college ranks, Hall played a season at the University of West Alabama (2000-01) and completed her playing career at Carson-Newman (2001-02), where she served as team captain.
Hall is a member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and resides in Fuquay-Varina.
