Swimming Ranked Third in Highlander Invitational After Two Days; Two More School Records Fall
RADFORD, Va. – Campbell's swimming team (8-9, 6-5 CCSA) continued to swim well on the second day of the Highlander Invitational on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Dedmon Center on the campus of Radford University. The team is rank third with 458 points.
The team broke two more school and meet records on the second day of competition. Sophomore Kylie Warne won the 400 IM in a school record time of 4:29.94. Her time was also a new meet record.
Fellow sophomore Cheriesse Campbell continued to compete well and broke her second school and meet record in as many days with her time of 1:52.52 in the 200 free.
Charlotte Cornet placed second in the 100 breast in a season-best time of 1:06.26.
Freshman Sydney Postmus finished second in the 100 back with her season-best time of 59.31.
The 200 medley relay team finished second in their event with a time of 1:47.23.
The 800 free relay team placed third in that event with a season-best time of 7:48.32.
Campbell continues competition in the Highlander Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 19, beginning at 9 a.m. with the preliminaries. The finals are set to begin at 6 p.m. to finish the competition. The Camels are behind Liberty (508.5) and Georgia Southern (460) entering the third day of competition.
