Swimming Defeats Queens University and College of Charleston


BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell's swimming team (4-2) defeated both Queens University (152-110) and College of Charleston (144-118) in a dual meet on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Johnson Aquatic Center.

Sophomore Charlotte Cornet earned victories in the 100 breast (1:07.14) and the 200 breast (2:27.32).She also finished third in the 200 IM (2:14.84).

Cheriesse Campbell earned a pair of CU victories in the 500 free (5:11.60) and the 200 free (1:56.91).

Kylie Warne finished as the runner-up in the 1000 free (10:40.97) and the 200 IM (2:12.01). She also took home third in the 200 fly (2L12.85).

Kaitlyn Tunstall finished second in the 100 fly (1:00.64) and third in the 200 free (1:59.85).

Meredith Cooper placed third for CU in the 200 back (2:18.25) and the 100 breast (1:10.31).

Sydney Postmus earned third in the 100 free (54.34). Fellow freshman Larissa Joassaint placed third in the 100 fly (1:00.77).

CU's 200 medley relay team of Postmus, Cornet, Kaitlyn Burnette and Joassaint won their event in a time of 1:50.11. The Camels relay team of Warne, Cooper, Virginia Dailey and Marissa Coughlin placed third in the same event with a time of 1:52.53.

The 200 free relay team of Tunstall, Postmus, Joassaint and Cheriesse Campbell were the runner-up with a time of 1:39.85.


Next, Campbell's swimming program travels to Greensboro, N.C. to take on North Carolina A&T on Oct. 21 at 6 p.m
