    Swimming Finishes Eighth At CCSA Championship; Cheriesse Campbell Turns In All-Conference Performance Campbell's swimming team finished eighth at the 2011 CCSA Championship with a total of 176 points. Freshman Cheriesse Campbell had a big day in earning a place on the 1,650 free all-conference team.

    Swimming Ranked Seventh After First Day of CCSA Championship; Cheriesse Campbell Breaks 500 Free Record Campbell's swimming team is ranked seventh after the first day of the CCSA Championship with 76 total points. The Camels were led on the first day by freshman Cheriesse Campbell, who shattered her previous school record in the 500 free. Fellow freshman Kaitlyn Burnette also broke the 100 backstroke with her time of 58.58 attained in exhibitioned 'C' 400 medley relay .

    Swimming Off To CCSA Championships This Week Campbell's swim team competes in the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Championships from Feb. 17-19 this week in Athens, Ga. The Camels will be looking to improve on the team's sixth place finish from a season ago. The CU program continues to improve yearly and placed seventh during both the 2008 and 2009 season. The day will have daily trials at 10 a.m. and nightly final of events starting at 6 p.m.

    Cheriesse Campbell Claims CCSA Swimmer of the Week Honor For the second consecutive week and the third time this season a Campbell swimmer, Cheriesse Campbell, has been named the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Women's Swimmer of the Week. The league announced that Cheriesse Campbell had captured its weekly award for the week of action from Jan. 31-Feb. 5 in CU last week of regular season competition.

    Kylie Warne Claims CCSA Swimmer of the Week Honor Campbell freshman swimmer Kylie Warne has been named the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced for the week covering action from January 24-29. This is the second time that Warne has been honored by the conference office this season as she was also named the CCSA Swimmer of Week on Nov. 10.

    Swimming Falls to College of Charleston, 147-131 Campbell's swimming team (10-10, 9-5 CCSA) lost a tough 147-131 decision to College of Charleston on Friday night at Stern Pool. The Camels swam well and ended up totaling 24 top-three finishes over the course of the meet. CU actually ended the swimming portion of the meet tied with the Cougars at 131 points each, but lost all 16 points to CofC since the Camels do not have a competing diving team.

    Swimming Travels to College of Charleston This Friday Campbell's swim team (10-9, 9-4 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association), after winning four of the team's six matches against CCSA competition at Davidson College last weekend, gets out back into conference action and takes on College of Charleston on Friday, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m. at the Stern Pool.

    Swimming Has A Strong Meet At Davidson College Campbell's swimming team put together a strong tune-up meet in Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association action on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Cannon Natatorium against five other CCSA schools (Davidson, Howard, Georgia Southern & Liberty). The Camels were able to defeat Howard 213-60, Liberty 164-95, North Carolina A&T 221-27 and Radford 169-124. CU fell to Davidson 222-60 and Georgia Southern 215-79.

The Camels were able to defeat Pfeiffer by a 140-49 score, but fell to Gardner-Webb by a 130-66 margin at the Johnson Aquatic Center

    Swimming Hosts Gardner-Webb and Pfeiffer In Home Finale This Friday; Heads To Davidson College For CCSA Meet On Saturday Campbell's swim team (5-6, 5-1 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association), after defeating North Carolina A&T last week, gets back in the pool and hosts its final home swim meet of the season on Friday, Jan. 21 at the Johnson Aquatic Center. The Camels are set to host CCSA rival Gardner-Webb and Pfeiffer at 4 p.m. CU is then scheduled to hit the road and heads off to Davidson College on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m. at the Cannon Natatorium.

    Swimming Defeats North Carolina A&T Campbell's swimming team had a strong overall performance in winning all 11 races in the team's dual meet against North Carolina A&T on Friday, Jan. 14. The Camels won all 11 events and scored 167 points in the meet.

The Camels wrapped up competition with 587.5 points and finished below Georgia Southern (906) and Youngstown State (716.5) among the eight teams in the meet.

The Camels defeated North Carolina A&T by a 86-9, but lost to the Eagles 59-36. Kylie Warne was able to set a school record in 1,000 free for the second consecutive meet.

For the third time this season and the second time in as many days the team's 1,000 free record was broken. This time the record was broken by Cheriesse Campbell.
