Softball’s 2012-13 Recruits Have Banner Final Seasons

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell's 2012-13 softball recruits had banner campaigns in their final seasons before coming to Campbell. CU signed three recruits during the early signing period in the fall and added a transfer during the spring signing window.

Amanda Daw – Infielder – 5'1" – R/R – Pantego, N.C. / Northside / Pitt Community College
Earned the Academic Superior Award for Region 10 her sophomore season at Pitt Community College…an All-Region First Team and an All-Tournament Team selection….named the Pitt Community College Scholar Athlete of the Year…hit .319 with 14 runs, 61 hits, seven doubles, two triples, a home run and 21 stolen bases.

Haley Haselden – Outfielder – 5'5" – B/R – Aynor, S.C. / Aynor
Hit .476 with a .500 on-base percentage in her final season at Aynor High School…also drove in 13 runs, scored 18 times, stole 13 bases, slugged at .825 clip and totaled three inside-the-park home runs…she was named the 2012 Aynor High School "Female Athlete of the Year" and the "Best Offensive Softball Player" at her high school...named to the Region VIII-AA All-State Softball Team and the Region VIII-AA All-Region Softball Team…also selected to participate in the "North-South All-Star" Softball Team…was a South Carolina High School League "Scholar-Athlete" following her senior season.

Courtney Klingler - Catcher – 5'9" - R/R - Alvin, Texas / Manvel
Named the District 24-4A MVP for second straight year and became first player to ever accomplish that feat in the District…led Manvel to an undefeated regular season and a District Championship…her team advanced all the way to the Regional Semi-finals…individually she was Preseason First Team All-Greater Houston, Vype Magazine Preseason Player of the Year, First Team All-District as a catcher, Manvel High School's Most Valuable Player, Vype Magazine's Top Ten Impact Players for The Year in May and the All-Greater Houston First Team catcher…on the season she hit .490 with eight home runs and 54 RBIs

Courtney Roberts – Pitcher – 5'7" – R/R – Simpsonville, S.C. / Hillcrest
Went 24-3 in the circle as a senior with 270 strikeouts in 178 innings worked…had a miniscule 0.52 ERA during the team's post season run…hit .324 in her final season with an on-base percentage of .375, a slugging percentage of .486 and an OPS of .861…hit four home runs with 29 RBIs as a hitter…hit .471 with a .705 slugging percentage and a 1.176 OPS in the team's post season games…was named the ESPN HS Southeast National Player of the Week on May 24, 2012...a South Carolina Coaches Association for Women's Sports (CAWS) 2012 All-State and All-Star selection…named the High School Sports Report softball 4A Player of the Year…earned Greenville Baseball/Softball Club Player of the Week honors twice and was the organization's Co-Player of the Year in 2012…is a nominee for the 2012 ESPN Gatorade Player of the Year in South Carolina…aided Hillcrest to a 31-3 overall record…the team also capturing the 4A South Carolina State Championship, Upper State Championship, District II title, a regional championship and the Lexington Tournament Championship...the team was ranked No. 41 nationally in the ESPN FAB 50…playing club softball for the Carolina Elite Gold 18 U
