Men’s Tennis Falls to #21 NC State 6-1

RALEIGH, N.C. – Fernando Guillen improved to 7-3 in singles play this season, but Campbell fell 6-1 to #21 NC State Saturday evening. The Wolfpack took five singles matches and the doubles point against the Camels (5-5, 1-2).

Guillen defeated Austin Powell in the two position. The San Louis Potici, Mexico native took the first set 6-4, but Powell fought back to take the second set 6-3. However, Guillen was determined to get a point for the Camels, and took the third set 6-2 to win the match (6-4, 3-6, 6-2). The sophomore has won four consecutive singles matches.

Freshman Adrien Rossignon fell in the one spot to #86 Jaime Pulgar (6-2, 7-5). The Arlon, Belgium native is 7-3 this season.

The Camels finish a five match road trip Friday, March 16 as they travel to Greenville, N.C. to take on East Carolina. Match time is set for 3:00 pm.
