Men's Tennis Sweeps UNC Asheville 7-0

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Camels (16-3, 7-2 A-Sun) took all six singles matches and captured the doubles point en route to a 7-0 victory over UNC Asheville Tuesday afternoon at the Nisbet Tennis Center.

Davy Sum improved to 19-0 in singles play by defeating Matt Waissen (6-0, 6-4) in the one spot. Larbi Lamzouri returned to the two position and defeated Adrien Langeard (6-3, 7-6).

Freshman, Fernando Guillen defeated Nicolai Nonnenbroich in the three spot (7-6, 6-1). The Mexico native is 14-5 in singles play this season.

Dominik Kaniewski returned to the lineup in the four spot after sitting out two matches with a knee injury. Kaniewski defeated Ryan Matthews in a three set thriller despite playing through a nagging knee (6-2, 6-7, 15-13).

Campbell swept all three doubles matches from the Bulldogs. Sum and Kaniewski won their eleventh straight match by defeating Waissen and Jonas Brobeck (8-7) in the one spot. The duo is 14-2 this season.

The Camels conclude their regular season schedule Friday as they take on USC Upstate on senior day. Coach David Johnson will honor seniors Sum, Lamzouri, Ian Kahler, and Loukas Wallaart before the matches begin. Match time is set for 1:00 p.m.
