Former collegiate standout German Perez is in his second year as a graduate assistant coach with the Campbell University men's and women's tennis teams.

Perez joined the Fighting Camel Program for th 2010-11 season as a graduate assistant coach. He helped guide the men's team to a 17-5 overall record, including an 8-4 record in conference play, and a fourth-place finish in the Atlantic Sun Conference. He aslo assisted with the Campbell women's team and helped lead them to a 13-8 overall record, an 8-2 conference record, and a second place finish in the A-Sun. 

Perez spent the 2009-10 season as a student assistant at his alma mater, Coastal Carolina.  During his time on the Coastal staff, he helped lead the Chanticleer men to a 14-8 overall record and a third-place finish in the Big South Conference.

As a senior at Coastal Carolina in 2009, Perez earned All-Big South Conference honors in both singles and doubles.  He was also selected to the ITA Academic team.

In singles, Perez posted a 13-8 record in the No. 1 spot, while going on a seven-match win streak to end the season. Perez and partner Ernesto Ramos also went 16-4 record in the No. 1 spot in doubles, and the duo was rated No. 68 by collegetennisonline.com, the first time in school history a Coastal doubles team earned a national ranking.

In the fall of 2008, Perez won the A-1 doubles flight at the Sergio Tacchini Collegiate Invitational and also went undefeated in singles matches at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.  He graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Prior to transferring to Coastal, Perez attended the University of Arkansas-Little Rock from 2005-08 where he was a two-time selection to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll.  He finished the 2008 season ranked 30th in the Central Region singles listing.

Over his three-year stint at UALR, Perez finished with a 35-21 singles record.

Perez is a 2005 graduate of Colegio Helios in Valencia, Spain.  He was a finalist of the Comunidad Valenciana tournament in the under 16 age group, and won the Team Championship of the Comunidad Valenciana.  He also competed in the doubles quarterfinals of the Spain U-16 championships and advanced to the quarterfinals in the ETA Tournament in Austria.  Perez is a former champion of the National Mediterranean Open.

The son of German and Marisa and supporter of Valencia CF, he now resides in Lillington and is pursuing an MBA in finance at Campbell.
