Men's soccer opens 2014 preseason with first practice

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell held its first practice of the 2014 season in rainy conditions on Saturday morning.

The short session focused primarily on fitness and technique, featuring passing drills and a conditioning test for the players.

The Camels will return to the pitch for a second outing this afternoon and will go through two-a-days leading up to the first preseason contest at Appalachian State on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m.

Campbell will also go on the road at NC State for a mid-week preseason tilt at 7 p.m. on Aug. 20 before returning home to square off against George Mason in the preseason finale at 5 p.m. on Aug. 23.

Regular season play is set to begin at UNCG with a late kickoff time of 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29.
