PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Campbell University shot the program's 54-hole record low score and claimed the team championship Tuesday at the Golfweek Program Challenge at True Blue Golf Club.

The Camels finished the three-day event at 31-under-par (277-278-278) to win by seven strokes over Jacksonville State (276-279-285—840) and South Florida (278-279-283—840).  UNC Wilmington (288-279-276—843) was fourth and East Carolina fifth (281-280-285—846) in the 12-school field.

Campbell freshman Andrew Gai recorded the second-lowest 54-hole score in CU history and finished as runner-up in his inaugural collegiate tournament.  The Westport, Conn., native was 13-under-par for the tourney, shooting 64-69-70—203, just two strokes off the school record of 201 set by Simon Dunn in 2001 and matched by Kyle Spahr in 2006.

He finished two strokes behind medalist Tomasz Anderson of Jacksonville State (66-68-67—201).

Gai, who tied the school 18-hole record with an 8-under 64 during Sunday's opening round, had five birdies over the final 14 holes Tuesday and concluded the event with 20 birdies overall.

Campbell seniors Mitch Gray and Vaita Guillaume also notched top-10 individual finishes.

A native of Florence, S.C., Gray carded five birdies on Tuesday, 14 for the tournament, and tied for seventh place at seven-under 209 (71-69-69).
