PGA Class A member Tim Crooks is in his seventh year as assistant men's and women's golf coach at Campbell University.  A 1999 Campbell graduate with a B.S. in sport management degree, Crooks returned to his alma mater in 2004-05 after spending four years working in various aspects of the golf profession.

Since he joined head coach John Crooks' staff, Tim Crooks has played a vital role in the success of the program.  During his tenure as assistant coach, Campbell has advanced to NCAA regional play five times and won three Atlantic Sun Conference championships.  The Campbell men have won 10 tournament titles, while the women have claimed 15 in the same six-year span.

CU golfers have been named all-conference or all-freshman 36 times and CU has been represented on A-Sun all-tournament teams on 17 occasions.  Campbell golfers have qualified for Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team recognition 88 times in his first six years.

The 2010 women's team claimed team championships at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic and Fighting Camel Classic, while finishing among the top six in each of its first 11 tournaments en route to an NCAA East Regional berth.  CU placed second at the Furman Lady Paladin Invitational, Waterlefe Invitational and LPGA International/Xavier Invitational.  Campbell tied for 3rd at the Atlantic Sun Championship.

Campbell's 2009-10 men's team won the Big Five Invitational and finished fourth in the Atlantic Sun Conference, extending their string of top-five A-Sun finishes to a record nine years.

During 2009, Campbell's men claimed an automatic berth in the NCAA Southeast Regional by winning the Atlantic Sun Championship.  The Camels led wire-to-wire at their home course as four CU players placed among the top 14 individuals.  CU has finished among the top five eams in the A-Sun event for the last eight years, the longest streak of any league member.

Vaite Guillaume placed second individually to earn all-tournament honors in addition to second-team all-conference and all-freshman recognition.  He and fellow freshman Mitch Gray were ranked 14th in the nation in the Golfstat Freshman Impact rating.

The Campbell women added two more tournament titles and a 2009 A-Sun runner-up finish, plus four all-conference honors to the program's long list of accomplishments.  Only once in 15 years has Campbell failed to finish either first or second in the A-Sun championship since joining the league in 1994-95.  Mary Mattson was a first-team all-conference performer, who added all-tournament honors by finishing fourth at the A-Sun event.

Belen Diaz Cisneros and Sandra Angulo were named second-team all-conference in 2009, while Michelle Koh was named to the all-freshman team.  Sophomore Sarah Bejgrowicz collected her first collegiate victory at the Jacksonville Women's Classic.

In 2008, Campbell's women finished among the top two teams in the A-Sun Championship for the 13th time in 14 years in the league.  Campbell's men extended their string of top-five finishes in the A-Sun tournament to seven years.  Thirteen Campbell golfers were named to the league all-academic team.

Campbell won its second-straight (and a league record 8th overall) A-Sun women's championship in 2007, defeating second-place East Tennessee State by 29 strokes.  Alejandra Shaw won the A-Sun individual title and was named league player of the year for the second-straight year.  Shaw, Maite Ortiz de Pinedo (Fighting Camel Classic), Mary Mattson (Shoot-out at the Legends) and Belen Diaz Cisneros (Spider Fall Invitational) each won individual titles during '06-07.

Campbell's men tied a school record with four tournament titles during 2006-07 in events hosted by Hartford, Old Dominion, Campbell and William & Mary.  Junior Fredric Sundberg was a first-team all-league choice and earned an individual berth to the NCAA East Regional Championship.

In 2005-06, Crooks helped guide the Campbell women to the Atlantic Sun Conference title and an NCAA East Regional berth.  Four CU men's and women's golfers were recognized on the all-conference teams and 14 earned league All-Academic honors during the campaign.

In his first year with the program, Crooks helped develop a women's team that earned a berth to the 2005 NCAA East Regional and finished as Atlantic Sun Conference runners-up.  Six Campbell golfers earned all-league recognition and 17 gained conference All-Academic status in his first season.  Crooks coached both the Atlantic Sun men's and women's Freshmen of the Year in '05.

Before accepting the Campbell position, Crooks served one year as assistant golf professional at the Butte Des Morts Country Club in Appleton, Wisc.  He also worked as an assistant pro at Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., and Green Bay (Wisc.) Country Club.

After completing his collegiate eligibility at Campbell in 1999, Crooks played one year on the Golden Bear Tour, a professional circuit in West Palm Beach, Fla.  He spent 2001 as a tournament operations assistant With the FUTURES Tour, the official developmental tour of the LPGA.

"Tim was a leader for us during his playing career and served as team captain.  He was an outstanding player and student, who understands the Division I student-athlete experience.  He is truly an asset to our program," says head coach John Crooks.

During his collegiate playing career, Tim Crooks recorded six top-10 individual tournament finishes.  As a junior in 1997-98, he was named to the Trans America Athletic (now Atlantic Sun) Conference second team after posting a pair of runner-up showings.  He finished second at the San Diego State Montecito Invitational and the Columbus State G. Gunby Jordan Intercollegiate (four-under 212).  That year, Crooks was the only Campbell individual to compete in all 25 rounds for the team during the regular season.

As a senior, he also finished second at the UNC Wilmington Belvedere Intercollegiate.  During Crooks' senior season, he captained a team that finished no worse than fourth in any of its tournaments and won the TAAC crown.

Crooks is a 1994 graduate of Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown, Pa.  He earned all-state honors during his prep career and also played in the U.S. Junior Amateur and the Eastern Amateur Championship.

He and his wife, former LPGA touring pro Joellyn Erdmann-Crooks, are proud parents of a son, Evan Joseph Crooks, who was born Dec. 4, 2008.
