January 4, 2012 Jordan Cramer Named To FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team Campbell’s Jordan Cramer was one of 58 student-athletes named to the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team. He is the first Campbell football player to earn recognition on the team since the CU program was restarted in 2008.
December 2, 2011 Five Football Players Named To Annual Academic All-PFL Teams Campbell’s football program (6-5, 5-3 PFL) had five players earn Academic All-Pioneer Football League honors, the conference announced this afternoon. The team is the 19th Academic All-PFL team since the league began. The Camels placed four on the first team and one on the second team this season.

November 19, 2011 Football Falls To Georgia State, 42-35 Campbell’s football team (6-5, 5-3 PFL) fought all the way to the end in a 42-35 loss to Georgia State (3-8) on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Georgia Dome. The game was the last in the career of 29 CU seniors who had formed the bedrock of Campbell’s program since the restart. The game was also the first time that Campbell has played indoors at an NFL facility and the fifth time that the Camels have taken on an FCS scholarship program.
November 15, 2011 Football Finishes The Season At Georgia State Campbell’s football program (6-4, 5-3 PFL) completes the 2011 season with a trip to Atlanta to play Georgia State (2-8) in the Georgia Dome on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. The game will be the first for Campbell indoors and at a National Football League facility since the program was restarted.

November 12, 2011 Football Falls to Valparaiso, 34-31 Campbell’s football team (6-4, 5-3 PFL) fell to Valparaiso (1-9, 1-6 PFL) by a 34-31 score on Saturday, Nov. 12, in Valparaiso, Ind. The win for Valpo snapped the team’s 29-game losing streak. The loss for Campbell ended the program’s school-record five gamer.

Twenty-nine Camel seniors made their final home appearances in the Orange & Black on Saturday.

October 30, 2011 Braden Smith Takes Home Second Pioneer Football League Weekly Honor For the second time in his playing career and the second time in as many weeks Campbell quarterback Braden Smith was named the Pioneer Football League’s Offensive Player Of the Week, the league announced on Oct. 30. Smith was the named the co-offensive player of the week along with Dayton’s Will Bardo. The back-to-back weekly awards from a CU player was the first time during the Division I era.
October 29, 2011 Football Wins Triple Overtime Thriller Over Davidson, 26-20 Braden Smith completed a 12-yard pass to Chad McMichael with just :13 seconds remaining in the game to force overtime and then scored a diving touchdown in the third overtime to allow Campbell’s football team (5-3, 4-2 Pioneer Football League) to escape with 26-20 thrilling victory over Davidson (2-6, 0-5 PFL) on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Richardson Stadium/Smith Field. The win was Campbell’s fourth in a row and the first time that CU has topped Davidson in four Division I attempts.
October 27, 2011 Football’s Jeremy Hill and Ted Moore Chosen for FCS Senior Scout Bowl Campbell football offensive lineman Jeremy Hill and punter Ted Moore have been invited to the FCS Senior Scout Bowl the committee announced recently. Hill and Moore were selected for the South team and are two of 15 PFL players to be chosen.

October 15, 2011 Football Defeats Marist, 35-21 Campbell’s football team (3-3, 2-2 PFL) made a little history with the team’s 35-21 victory over Marist College (2-5, 1-3 PFL) on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The win was Campbell’s second consecutive win and allowed the Camels to draw even in league play. The win also was Campbell’s first over Marist and first-ever in the state of New York. This is also the first time that Campbell has been .500 after six games since the program was restarted.

August 2, 2011 Adam Willets On Watch List For Fred Mitchell Placekicking Award Campbell redshirt senior placekicker Adam Willets has been named to the watch list for the Fred Mitchell Placekicking Award, the award’s selection committee announced this morning. Willets is one of three representative from the Pioneer Football League (David Lang – Butler and Billy Janssen - Drake) and the only kicker selected from the state of North Carolina from the 50 listed candidates.
August 1, 2011 Football Opens Preseason Camp One-hundred and 10 players greeted Campbell head coach Dale Steele and the rest of the coaching staff as the CU football team officially reported to preseason camp on Monday (Aug. 1). This is the Camels’ fourth preseason camp. CU’s football team is coming off a season where the team led the conference in rushing for the second consecutive season with 2,285 yards. The team showed marked improvement and lost five games by a combined 19 points in 2010. The Camels also set a school Division I record with 56 points and 416 yards rushing against Valparaiso in the team’s 56-14 home victory on Nov. 6, 2010.
