BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell offensive lineman Will Sawyer has been named 2014 FCS First Team South All-American by the Collegiate Development Football League.
Sawyer, a redshirt senior from Elizabeth City, N.C., anchored the Campbell offensive line in 2013, also picking up an All-PFL honorable mention nod last season.
Sawyer helped CU rank second in the PFL in rushing offense at 233.2 yards per game. The Camels ran for more than 200 yards five times in 2013, including a school record 513 in a win over UVa.-Wise. CU also passed for more than 275 yards four times. Behind Sawyer, the Camels set 21 offense team records, including yards rushing (2,565) and passing (2,276).
Also a PFL Academic Honor Roll member, Sawyer started all 12 games for Campbell at left guard.
Sawyer is one of five Camels to be named preseason All-American by USA College Football along with redshirt junior Ugonna Awuruonye, senior center Dalton Brown, redshirt senior linebacker Matt Farris and senior punter Adam Lutz.

The Camels went 3-9 overall in 2013, finishing the year with a 47-14 win at Davidson. In addition to Campbell's 21 offensive team records in Mike Minter's first season as head coach, the team also reset four defensive marks, including sacks (27), and three on special teams.
Senior Kurt Odom became Campbell's first football All-America selection, earning Third Team honors from the Sports Network. Odom was also named First Team All-PFL while seven Camels took home honorable mention nods. Odom, along with Adam Lutz, Ben Bolling and Hunter Somerville were also First Team Academic All-PFL. Michael Rudisill and Lucas Smith both earned Second Team honors.
