Football Announces 2012 Recruiting Class

BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Campbell head football coach Dale Steele has announced the Camels' 2012 recruiting class. The group features 32 newcomers from five different states, including 25 from North Carolina.

"Overall, athletically and academically, this is a very strong group with great character and a group that I think has tremendous upside with its size, speed and athleticism," said head coach Dale Steele. "We continue to get better groups each year, and I think the same is true with this year's class. They have set a very high bar and we're excited about them coming and being a part of the program."

Each member of the class has signed letters of commitment and has completed enrollment requirements for the University. This is the sixth signing class for CU head coach Dale Steele, who will lead the Camels into their fifth season of competition in the Division I era in 2012.

Campbell finished 2011 at 6-5 overall and 5-3 in Pioneer Football League play, marking the program's highest win total sine restarting the program in 2008. The Camels led the PFL in rushing for the third straight year (210.45 yards per game), placing 11 on all-conference teams.

"With the number of seniors we lost last season, we obviously had a lot of needs with this class, and I think we met those needs," said Steele. "It's a heavy class with offense and defensive linemen."

The Camels will open the 2012 season on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m., hosting Shorter.

"There is a chance that some of these guys coming in will see playing time in the fall because of our depth at some positions, so they're going to be asked to step up very quickly, and to have to play very early in their career," added Steele.

Below is a full list of the 2012 Campbell signees, followed by biographical capsules for each newcomer in alphabetical order.
