Milton Brown Earns Honorable Mention Selection To College Football Performance Awards This Week

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Redshirt senior linebacker Milton Brown was named an honorable mention selection to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) this week, Nov. 21, after leading Campbell's football team (6-5, 5-3 PFL) in a 42-35 loss at Georgia State in the Georgia Dome last weekend.

Brown, who hails from Havelock, N.C., led the CU defense with a pair of sacks and forced two fumbles in the game against the Panthers. His two sacks are tied for the second-most recorded in a single game by a CU defender since the program was restarted and the sixth time a Campbell defender has recorded a multiple sack performance during the FCS era. His two sacks gave him five on the season to rank second on the team. The five sacks are the second-highest single season total in the school's restart history behind Jeremiah Robinson's 7.5 this season. Brown also added to his tackles for loss total and ended his season with 10.5 this season from his linebacker position. Brown's two forced fumbles against Georgia State are the most recorded by a CU defender during a game in the Division I era. He ended his season with four forced fumbles.  Brown's name is all over the Campbell career record book since the restart as he has the most tackles (269), unassisted tackles (124), assisted tackles (145), tackles for loss yardage (104), interception return touchdowns (2) and forced fumbles (6). He is second in career sacks (9.5) and tackles for loss (22.5) plus third in fumble recoveries (2) and pass breakups (8). Brown owns the team's single game record of three interceptions against Carthage (9/27/08). He was named the Pioneer Football League's Defensive Player of the Week once in his career (9/29/08) and has twice been named to All-PFL teams with a first team selection in 2008 and an honorable mention nod in 2009. Eleven times in his career he led the Campbell defense in tackles in a game.
