Camels Host East Carolina Wednesday at Jim Perry Stadium

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After sweeping its third-straight weekend series, Campbell welcomes in-state rival East Carolina to Jim Perry Stadium Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The Camels are 13-2 on the season, the program's best start through 15 games in the team's Division I history. Campbell is 11-1 at home, having gone 10-0 over the last three weekends in Buies Creek.

The Camels, at 2-1 on the road, also count a 6-4 win at ECU from Feb. 19. In the team's first meeting, Elijah Trail homered and scored twice while Nick Ray drove in two. Ben McQuown and Michael DeLucia also picked up two hits against the Pirates, while righty Logan Self pitched two innings for the win in relief.

Senior shortstop Brent Graham is batting a team-high .444 with 18 runs, 13 RBI and nine stolen bases for the Camels, while junior infielder Elijah Trail adds a .389 average with three home runs, 18 runs scored and a team-best 19 RBI.

Ben McQuown adds a .415 average with team-leading 25 runs, 24 stolen bases and four home runs. The senior outfielder, who was named Big South Player of the Week by College Sports Madness for the second time this season on Tuesday, leads the nation in stolen bases.

Clayton Brown also bats .406 while Nick Ray has totaled 14 runs scored and Michael Felton has driven in 16 for the Camels, who bat .338 as a unit.

Four Campbell hurlers own three wins so far this season with Heath Bowers and Matt Marksberry both at 3-0. Ryan Mattes and Hector Cedano, meanwhile, both sit at 3-1, while Ryan Thompson has three saves and a 0.68 ERA in seven appearances.

The Camels received votes in both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association top-30 and College Baseball Daily's Mid-Major top-25 polls for the second straight week.

East Carolina is 9-5 heading into their Tuesday night game against Old Dominion in Greenville. The Pirates are 9-2 since falling to Campbell on Feb. 19 and are winners of six of seven.

Jack Reinheimer leads the Pirates with a .400 average, nine runs scored and seven RBI, with Luke Lowery adding a .538 clip (7-for-13 in seven games). Bryan Bass hits .352 with 12 runs scored. Chase McDonald has knocked in a team-high 13 runs while batting .273.

The Pirates own a 4.82 team ERA, led by Drew Reynolds' 1.00 clip on seven appearances. Ryan Williams is 3-0 with a 2.86 ERA for ECU, while David Lucroy and Jeff Hoffman are both 2-1.

After the midweek test against the Pirates, Campbell will begin Big South Conference play at Gardner-Webb on March 15, kicking off the three game series at 5 p.m.
