NASHVILLE – Campbell scored five runs in the top of the first inning before thunderstorms passed over Ken Duggan Field in Nashville on Thursday evening during the series opener at Lipscomb. The game will resume play Friday at 3 p.m. (Central Time) before the regularly scheduled Game 2.

Jimmy Brenneman started things off in the opening frame by legging out an infield single. After Ben McQuown fouled out to the catcher, Michael Felton lined a single to centerfield. Jake Kirkland followed with an RBI single up the middle, notching his 51st RBI of the season.

David Olson was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Nick Ray, who singled to score Felton and give the Camels a 2-0 advantage. Bryce Grady reached on an RBI fielder's choice, and two more runs scored on a throwing error by the shortstop. The scoring burst ended when Ben Fish laced a two-out double to the right-centerfield gap to plate Grady and give Campbell a 5-0 advantage after one-half inning.
