BUIES CREEK – Time changes have been announced for this weekend's Big South Conference baseball series with UNC Asheville. Friday's series opener at Taylor Field will now begin at 5 p.m. The first game of Saturday's doubleheader will get underway at 1 p.m., one hour earlier than originally scheduled.
The Campbell University Marketing & Promotions department will be offering many events and giveaways during the weekend series. Friday's opener will feature a free hamburger and hotdog cookout, courtesy of Campus Habitat. The event will begin at game time and take place behind the press box. Children can also enjoy inflatables provided by S&S Entertainment during this time.
All Campbell students who have participated in Camel Crazies will be eligible to win a free iPod upon attendance at Friday's game. Students who have attended 75% of CU athletic events this year will be entered into a drawing three times, and those who attend Friday's game will be entered once.
Saturday will be Water Day at Taylor Field, as a Slip 'n' Slide and other water activities from S&S Entertainment will be on site for the doubleheader. The activities will take place beyond the concession stand on the first base side of the field.
Campbell leads the all-time series with UNC Asheville 24-14. The Camels swept a three-game series over the Bulldogs in Buies Creek last season.
