BUIES CREEK – The Campbell baseball squad will welcome the Broncs of Rider University to campus for two mid-week games on Tuesday and Wednesday at Taylor Field. Both games are set to begin at 6 p.m.

The Fighting Camels will be facing Rider for the first time in program history. The Broncs are 5-7 after winning two of three games over Big South member Charleston Southern this past weekend. The Broncs compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the same league as earlier CU opponent Marist.

Rider is led by Ian Lindsey, who is batting .361 with five RBI and four runs scored. Brandon Cotten has four doubles and two triples and a .587 slugging percentage to go along with his .348 batting average.

CU is riding an eight-game winning streak coming into this week's home contests with Rider and Longwood. The streak is the longest since the 2000 squad won eight consecutive games. Prior to that, the 1986 team won 12 straight games.

Michael Felton leads the Camels with a .455 batting average and has scored 20 runs for CU in his first season for the orange and black. Felton has four doubles, one triple and one homer in 16 starts, and he leads the Big South in total hits. Teammate Jake Kirkland is third in total hits with 25 and first in home runs (4), total bases (45), on base percentage (.528) and slugging percentage (.776).

Two Camels are among the Big South leaders in stolen bases. Jimmy Brenneman tops the league charts with 10 stolen bases, and Ben McQuown is tied for fourth with six steals.
