Daniel Smith is in his first year at Campbell University as the Media Services Assistant. He will serve as the department's primary contact for women's soccer, wrestling and baseball. A native of Oakboro, N.C., Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks and Recreation Administration from Wingate University in May 2011. While at Wingate, he assisted the athletic department in numerous capacities.

As a student assistant in the Sports Information department, Smith's duties included serving as the primary contact for men's and women's cross country, official scorekeeper for basketball and baseball, and as a statistician spotter for volleyball. Smith also spent three years as the sideline reporter for football broadcasts on the Wingate Sports Network.

During his years as a student, Smith was involved in helping Wingate host the school's first NCAA Division II football playoff game, three Southeast Regional volleyball tournaments, the Southeast Regional cross country championships and multiple South Atlantic Conference championships. He also contributed game recaps and feature articles for the athletics website and The Weekly Triangle student newspaper.

Smith enjoys all types of sport history. His favorite sports figure of all-time is John Wooden. Smith resides in Buies Creek.
