handle the entire department's daily operations while also
continuing to work daily with the football program.
Knight had been the athletic trainer for the Lady Camels
women’s basketball team, men’s and women’s tennis
teams and men’s and women’s golf teams prior to being
promoted in the summer of 2011. She also works as the Clinical
Coordinator of the Athletic Training Education Program and teaches
classes within that program.
Knight comes to Campbell from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich. where she served as the head athletic trainer and assistant professor in the Health and Physical Education Department for three years. While at Hillsdale College with a staff of only two Certified Athletic Trainers, Jackie worked primarily with the football, men’s basketball, and softball teams but covered all the other sports regularly.
While receiving her master’s degree in athletic training from Indiana State University, Knight was a graduate assistant in the Sycamores athletic training department. During her stint at Indiana State, Knight also served as an athletic trainer at Terre Haute North Vigo High School.
Knight got her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from
Olivet College in Olivet, Mich. As an undergrad at Olivet, Knight
served as the football equipment manager and student athletic
trainer while participating as a student-athlete on the softball
and basketball teams. She also had the opportunity to be one of the
athletic trainers for the Michigan Cadet National Wrestling Camp
during the summer.
In the summertime for the past several years, Jackie has worked
with USA Athletes International and has had the opportunity to play
softball in international competitions and travel around the world.
More recently she has switched gears and transitioned to coaching
softball teams as well as serving as the athletic trainer on trips
with USA Athletes International. In the summer of 2008, Jackie
coached a team that won the gold medal while competing in Sydney,
Australia at the Olympic Softball Stadium, the site of the 2000
Summer Olympics.
