In his 20th year at Campbell University, Tony Delp has developed new all-time highs in the athletics departments fund-raising efforts with the Department of Athletics completing over $40 million in capital improvements. In addition, the Fighting Camel Club has increased both the number of athletics donors and completed various capital facility projects to record highs.

Highlight's of Delp's career include the completion of the $34 million John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center and Gilbert Craig Gore Arena, which was dedicated in fall 2008; completing the first phase of Barker-Lane Football Stadium/Ed Gore Field, which opened with Campbell University's first NCAA football game in 2008; and, completing the laying of Campbell's newly-completed Irwin Belk Track and Field Complex, which was constructed in spring of 2010. The John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center is the largest square footed facility on-campus as well in Harnett County, housing men's and women's basketball, wrestling events and hosting concerts, lectures, convention events, and graduation. Barker-Lane Stadium/Ed Gore Field opened in 2008 celebrating the kick off of Campbell's of first home football game in 58 years. The completed 400-meter layout of the Irwin Belk Track and Field Complex includes eight, 42-inch lanes on its polyurethane surface as well as a water jump for the steeple chase, high-jump "D" area, pole vault runway, two shot put rings and one discus/hammer ring. There is one long jump runway adjacent to the home stretch with a sand pit on each end to allow for wind direction changes.

The Department of Athletics completed the capital campaign for the McLeod Athletics Training Facility, which opened in 2004. The McLeod Athletics Training Facility services the athletic training program as well as the men's and women's soccer program and softball programs at the Eakes Complex. Delp has overseen the fundraising of various enhancement efforts which resulted in a state-of-the art lighting system that was installed in at the CU Soccer Stadium in 1994. Also in 1994, courts were resurfaced at the James Nisbet Tennis Center and new brick dugouts were erected at the Eakes Athletic Complex; softball lights were added for the 1997 season. Campbell's baseball facility, Taylor Field, received a new score board in 1996, received new lights for the 1997 season, as well as a new brick press box and new brick dugouts. The Willard B. Harris Baseball practice facility, an indoor and outdoor training site, was dedicated in 1996. The Department of Athletic developed a cross country trail not only in preparation of the 1996 TAAC Championships, but also for the use of Campbell students, faculty, staff and the community.

Delp oversees a 4,000 plus Fighting Camel Club membership base which has grown from less than 500. Ongoing athletics facility projects which are seeking funds include the completion of Barker-Lane Stadium/Ed Gore Field, which includes home seating, full press box and lighting; baseball stadium renovations, which includes new stadium seating, rest rooms, concession stands, and press box; Irwin Belk track amenities such as a storage building, bleachers, lights and improved fencing; and, soccer/softball improvements which include improved seating, new entrance as well as enhanced concessions and rest rooms.

A native of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Delp came to Campbell University from Georgia Southern University where he received a Master of Science in Sports Management. While at Georgia Southern, he was employed by Southern Boosters, Inc. the fund-raising arm of GSU Athletics. Delp is a 1984 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, is a member of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors and is the representative from the Athletics Department on the Campbell University Advancement Staff. Delp is married to the former Jennifer Alexander and they have two children, Christine and Clayton. They reside in Fuquay-Varina, N.C.
