BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Ashley Williamson notched her second consecutive double-double and Campbell held Lipscomb to just 29.8 percent, holding on for a 60-58 Atlantic Sun win inside the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center Monday night.

Campbell moves to 12-9 on the season and 7-5 in A-Sun play with the win, while Lipscomb falls to 4-19 with a 2-11 conference record. The Lady Camels' 12 wins is the most since the 2001-02 season, when CU posted a 13-15 record. That year marked the last time Campbell ended the season with a winning conference record as well, recording an 11-9 mark.

Williamson, a senior center, tallied 14 points and 13 rebounds for her team-high fourth double-double this season, and the eighth of her career. The Colonial Heights, Va. native also grabbed a pair of steals with a block and an assist for good measure.

Junior forward Lauren Yesh followed with 10 points and four boards on the night, while senior forward Geami Britt collected nine points off the bench with two blocks. Katelyn Bass, a sophomore forward, provided another spark off the Campbell bench, gathering eight points and five rebounds.

The guard duo of Hannah Phillips and Valerie Bronson registered 13 each on the night and combining for 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Anna Bowers joined the pair in double figures with 10 points. Sophomore post Brittany Duerk added eight points with three boards.

The Bisons jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the contest as Duerk notched four of her eight points in the game's first three minutes. The Lady Camels, however, answered with an 11-2 run, led by six points from Williamson to go up 11-9 at the 13:30 mark.

With 4:12 remaining in the stanza, Lipscomb forced the 26-all knot, and took the lead on a Bronson free throw. Down 35-31 with 1:18 remaining, Amanda O'Neill connected on a fast break lay-in to bring the Lady Camels within two.

After a Williamson free throw took the game to a one point difference, Campbell gathered possession with nine seconds to go in the half. With the ball in the corner, freshman guard Tonisha Baker dribbled right and pulled up for the 12-foot buzzer beater to give the Lady Camels a 36-35 advantage heading in the break.

Out of the break, Yesh put in a layup to spark a 17-6 Campbell run that ended in a Monique Spry rebound and put-back to give the Lady Camels a 53-41 lead at the 9:52 mark.

By the 4:31 mark, Campbell held a 60-50 advantage after Bass drained a jumper. With two seconds to go, however, the Lady Camels were clinging to a 60-58 lead when Lipscomb misfired on a lay-in, which fell to Amanda O'Neill to seal the CU win.

The Lady Camels will be back in action on Thursday in DeLand, Fla., facing Stetson in a 9 p.m. contest inside the Edwards Center. The game will be televised by CSS.
