BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Two teams battling for position near the top of the Atlantic Sun Conference standings meet Monday when Campbell hosts Lipscomb in an 8:00 p.m. tip-off at the Pope Center/Gore Arena.

Entering Monday's action, Campbell (12-8 overall, 7-4 A-Sun) and Lipscomb (11-10, 8-4) are among five teams within two games of league-leading Jacksonville (13-8, 9-3).

Lipscomb has won two-straight since dropping an 86-82 decision to visiting Campbell on Jan. 23 at Nashville, Tenn.  Campbell has lost twice since its victory over the pre-season co-favorite Bisons.

Like a week earlier, Campbell is coming off a loss to Belmont and facing a Lipscomb squad two days later.

Eight days ago, Campbell shot 60 percent in the second half and made 33-of-38 free throws on the night in its victory at Lipscomb.  Jonathan Rodriguez led Campbell with 26 points, including 13-of-15 from the stripe, plus 7 rebounds.  Junard Hartley added 11 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds and made all 8 of his free throws.  Miles Taylor (14) and Lorne Merthie (13) also hit double figures for the Camels.

Josh Slater and Adnan Hodzic led Lipscomb with 26 points each.  Jordan Burgason added 19 for the Bisons, who made 10-of-27 threes, but were out-rebounded by a 34-17 margin.

Since then, the Camels fell at East Tennessee State on Wednesday (72-57) and at home to Belmont (75-50) Saturday, marking the first time this year CU has dropped consecutive conference games.

Lipscomb, meanwhile, defeated arch-rival Belmont (78-72) on Tuesday, then won in overtime Saturday at ETSU (85-84), thanks to Slater's 35 points, 30 of which came after half-time.

Campbell is led by senior Jonathan Rodriguez, who sits just 14 points and 11 rebounds shy of becoming just the 101st player in NCAA Division I history to reach 2,000 points and 1,000 boards in his career.  Despite being shutout of the scoring column on Saturday for the first time in his 111-game career, Rodriguez ranks 5th among A-Sun scoring leaders (17.8), while rating 3rd in rebounds (8.3).

Junior point guard Junard Hartley tops the A-Sun in assists (5.7) and steals (2.4) and ranks among the top 20 nationally in both categories.

Lipscomb's 3-pronged attack is keyed by Hodzic in the post, who leads the conference in scoring (21.5), ranks 2nd in field goal accuracy (.588) and 5th in rebounding (8.0).  Slater stands 6th among A-Sun scoring leaders (17.2) and 3rd in assists (5.0).  Jordan Burgason, who hit the game-winning shot with 4.5 seconds left in overtime Saturday at ETSU, averages 12.4 points (14th in the A-Sun), while leading the conference in 3-point percentage (.435) and rating 2nd in threes made per game (3.2).

The Bisons lead all A-Sun schools in scoring (80.2 points per game) and field goal shooting (.465), while ranking 2nd in 3s per contest (8.52).  Campbell tops the league in steals (10.85) and turnover margin (plus-4.3), while standing 2nd in scoring defense (66.2) and field goal shooting (.443).
