BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell University baseball team will square off with the University of Dayton in a two game non-conference series.  The two teams will play on Tuesday with first pitch slated for 6:30 p.m. at Taylor Field, while Wednesday’s game will start at 4:00 p.m.

Campbell will enter the series with a record of 9-6 overall, while Dayton owns a season record of 7-8.  The Camels and the Flyers met for the first time ever in 2008.  The Camels took both games in Buies Creek to start the 2008 season 2-0.

Campbell continues to get positive production at the plate this season.  Over the last five games numerous Camels are batting .375 or better.  Bryan Braswell leads the way at .500; he is followed by Ryan Hamme (.474), Brian Gana (.429), Stephen Parsons (.417), Chaz Sessoms (.400), Ellis Lowe (.391), Kevin Nelson (.381) and Zach Johnson (.375).  Over the same stretch, the quartet of Hamme, Lowe, Gana and Nelson have combined to drive in 21 runs.

Campbell continues to lead the league in key statistical categories.  The Camels lead in batting average (.347), runs scored (165), RBI (148) and stolen bases (41).

Campbell fans will likely see Dan Gardo and Parker Fleming on the hill in the two game tilt.  Gardo (0-1) owns an 8.53 ERA this season over 12.2 innings with 14 strikeouts.  Meanwhile, Fleming owns a 2.00 ERA with nine strikeouts.

Following the two game set with Dayton, Campbell will hit the road on Thursday.  The Camels will travel to Johnson City as they will face East Tennessee State on Friday and Saturday.
