ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Jeremiah Fennell was the lone place winner for Campbell, finishing fifth in the heavyweight bracket, helping the Camels to a 10th place finish at the Navy Classic Saturday afternoon.

Fennell opened the day by winning his first match by pin in 1:17 over McDaniel’s Aaron Janowski. Fennell then proceeded to win his second straight match, taking a 5-2 decision over Rutgers’ Mike D’Amico. Fennell then dropped his next two matches before taking the fifth place match, pinning McDaniel’s Ryan Deiter at 4:59.

Several other Camels posted solid showings. Richie Apolinar (125 lbs.), David Wise (133 lbs.), Kelin Bidelspach (141 lbs.), Brent Poynter (165 lbs.) and Dillon Landi (174 lbs.) all earned three victories in the tournament.

Navy won the 13 team tournament with 148.5 team points. Fourteen Midshipmen put up place winning performances on the day. Bloomsburg finished a close second with 141.5 points placing 12 wrestlers on the afternoon.

Campbell will be off for 11 days until they travel to Belmont Abbey for a team dual on November 29. The non-conference match-up is set to start at 6:00 p.m.
