JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Sarah Bejgrowicz won individual honors and Campbell University captured the team title following Tuesday’s final round of the Jacksonville University Women’s Classic at Hidden Hills Country Club.

A sophomore from Lancaster, Pa., Bejgrowicz claimed her first collegiate tournament victory by four strokes over runner-up Praewnapa Phol-uayporn of Florida Atlantic.  Bejgrowicz shot 76-74—150 on the par-72, 6046 layout, an Arnold Palmer-Ed Seay design.  She had four birdies and 22 pars in the 36-hole event.

The Lady Camels shot 310-309—619 as a team, 18 strokes better than runner-up Stetson (327-310—637).  The field also included two other Atlantic Sun Conference schools, Florida Gulf Coast and host Jacksonville.

Campbell freshman Michelle Koh registered the best finish of her young career with a fourth place tie at 81-75—156.  Junior Mary Mattson recorded her third top-10 showing in five events this year by tying for eighth at 77-80—157.

Sophomore Sandra Angulo finished 10th (78-80—158) to mark her third-straight top-10 result, while junior Belen Diaz Cisneros produced her best finish of 2008-09, an 11th-place tie (82-78—160).

The tournament crown was the second of the year for the Lady Camels and the 59th in Coach John Crooks’ 18-year tenure.  Crooks stands second among active Division I women’s golf coaches in career tournament wins.

“The Campbell ladies played really, really well under extremely difficult conditions,” said Coach Crooks.  “The winds were out of the northeast at 15-to-20 miles-per-hour and the greens were really fast.”

Campbell continues its spring season next Monday and Tuesday at the Pinehurst Challenge, hosted by the College of Charleston on Pinehurst No. 8.
