BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell's
swim team (3-7) begins the busy month of November with a pair of dual meets
against conference rivals this weekend. The Camels are slated to take on Georgia Southern on Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. in Statesboro, Ga. before
heading down the road to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on North Florida
at noon.
The Camels fell to both Richmond and N.C. State
last weekend. Their highest individual finish came in the 200 IM by Emily Michael. Michael used a time of 2:20.97 to finish in third. She also set a
season high in the 200-beast, finishing sixth with a time of 2:35.01. Campbell's 200 free relay
team of senior Kara Gerdeman, freshman Kaitlyn Tunstall, senior Jackie Kenline
and junior Ashlyn Stumpf posted a time of 1:42.67 and finished in the top three
last Saturday. On the season, freshman Magda Kedracka leads the team with five
top-three finishes.
Georgia Southern (2-4)
split the team's Tri-Meet at College
of Charleston last
weekend. The Eagles defeated College
of Charleston by a 214-62 margin and
lost a close one to North Florida, 149-141.
This will be the first home meet of the season for Georgia Southern. Senior Lauren
Parr and Courtney Martz have both recorded seven event wins for GSU this
season. North Florida (3-0) have started the season strong with wins over
Florida A&M, College of Charleston and Georgia Southern. This will also be
the first home swim of the season for the Osprey. UNF have already won two
Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Swimmers of the Week. Senior Emily Shaw
won the award following the first week of competition, while junior Lyn Ann
Nelson took home the award on Monday, Nov. 2.
Next, Campbell's swimming program heads
to Radford, Va.
to take on Radford
University in a dual meet
on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. The Camels will travel back to Radford the
following weekend, Nov. 19-21, for the Highlander Invitational. CU will be in
competition along with North Carolina A&T, Millersville, Mt St. Mary's and Radford.
