BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Campbell took the opening frame of the afternoon contest, but Lipscomb rallied behind Alex Kelly's 25 kills to down the Camels, 3-1 (28-26, 23-25, 18-25, 16-25) in Atlantic Sun volleyball action Saturday afternoon inside the John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center.

The Camels fall to 11-7 overall and 5-3 in A-Sun play with the loss, while the Bisons improve to 13-3 and 9-0 in conference contests.

Kelly's 25 kills mark a Gilbert Craig Gore Arena record, as did her 51 attack attempts and 28.5 points. Junior setter Jake Pease posted a Gore Arena record as well, notching 57 assists. The Berryton, Kan. native also notched 15 digs and seven kills in the win. As a team, Lipscomb established five records for the second year CU facility, registering 70 kills, 186 attack attempts, 65 assists, 86 digs and 81.0 points.

Junior outside hitter Meghan Hinemeyer also collected 15 kills with 18 digs and two solo blocks for 17.0 points. Freshman outside hitter Kaycee Green also collected double-figure kills, totaling 12 with seven digs. Senior right side hitter Erin Pierce also notched six scores, adding 15 digs,  with sophomore Katie Rose grabbing 16 digs.

Junior outside hitters Emily Werner and Allyson Goldbach both posted a team-high 10 kills for the Camels in the loss, while senior middle Ashley Weers ended the afternoon with nine scores. Werner added seven digs with two block assists, while Goldbach registered a double-double with 11 digs. A Jupiter, Fla. native, Goldbach also gathered two aces and one solo block. Weers, meanwhile, tallied five blocks, including a stellar four solo.

Defensively, the Camels were led by senior Sarah Hill with 22, while sophomore Lauren Garza followed with 13. Rookie outside hitter Jordan Reaves added eight in the loss. Sophomore setter Hope Leatigaga, meanwhile notched 32 assists with seven digs, two blocks and a pair of kills.

The Camels will head to Jacksonville, Fla. next weekend, Oct. 9-10, traveling to North Florida on Friday, followed by Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon.
